ONG HOCK CHUAN
Ong Hock Chuan worked as a journalist in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Indonesia before transferring his communications skills to public relations. Between 1998 and 2000 he headed Ogilvy PR Indonesia and stewarded it to win the Media PR Agency of the Year award in 1999. He then headed Ogilvy PR in Singapore until 2002 when he returned to Indonesia to co-found Maverick. Today, Maverick is one of the most respected names in crisis and issues management, litigation support and corporate communications. It is also well-known as the organizer of Pesta Blogger, Indonesia's premier gathering of bloggers nationwide.
Ong holds a B.A in Journalism from the University of South Australia and a Nuffield Press fellow at Wolfson College, Cambridge. He also runs the Unspun blog (http://theunspunblog.com) that's often ranked among the Top 5 English-language blogs in Indonesia.
