Noke Kiroyan

NOKE KIROYAN is Managing Partner of Kiroyan Partners, a consulting firm in Corporate Social Responsibility, Stakeholder Management and Reputation Building he established in 2006. He is concurrently Independent Commissioner of PT Asuransi CIGNA and Director of PT Agincourt Resources that is developing a gold project in North Sumatra.

Noke joined the mining industry in 1997 when he repatriated as Country Head of Rio Tinto in Indonesia, followed by reassignment in 2001 as President Director of the world-class coal mining operation, KPC, then a joint venture between Rio Tinto and BP. Upon sale of KPC in 2003 he was retained as non-executive Chairman of PT Rio Tinto Indonesia until he accepted the job as President Director, PT Newmont Nusantara in October 2005 that he quit in December 2006.

From 1974 to 1991 Noke Kiroyan worked with the Siemens Group in Indonesia, starting as Management Trainee – that included a 2 ½ - year assignment at Siemens AG in Germany – and leaving as President Director of PT Siemens Indonesia. Thereafter he headed the operations of the SALIM Group in Germany, Australia and the United States respectively from 1991 through 1997.

Among his many public service duties, he is Chairman and Co-founder of Indonesia Business Links – Resource Center for Corporate Citizenship and Chairman of the Indonesian chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce. As well, he is Advisory Board member of The Nature Conservancy and Trustee of Padjadjaran University, the United States – Indonesia Society (USINDO) and the Fulbright Program in Indonesia.

Noke Kiroyan graduated in Communication Science from Padjadjaran University in Bandung, Indonesia, and Liberal Arts from Syracuse University in the United States. He holds professional qualifications in Commerce & Accounting as acquired in Nürnberg, Germany. In addition to his native Indonesian he is fluent in English, German and Dutch.
