Ahmad Fuad Afdhal
Ahmad Fuad Afdhal was born in Jakarta on August 4th, 1948. With a Ph.D. degree in Social Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota, U.S. he actively writes on management and communications for various media and has held a number of positions in both business and academic circles. He is a former President of the National Science and Technology Institute, and to this day remains active as a lecturer at both private and public universities including the University of Indonesia, and Padjajaran University.
This Bandung Technology Institute alumnus (class of 1979) is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Awal Fajar Adicita, a Public Relations consultancy he established. Prior to that, he began his career as a Marketing Development Manager at Johnson & Johnson Indonesia. He continued his professional rise through high-level positions as Marketing Manager of PT Gelatindo Mukti Graha, General Manager of PT Graha Tama Wisesa, Director of PT Bimantara Artika Citra, Director of PT Bimacom Perdana Rubber Industry and Corporate Secretary of PT Bimantara Citra until 1995.
Having established a renowned reputation for Awal Fajar Adicita, in 2004 Ahmad Fuad Afdhal launched Tiga Cahya Fortuna, focusing in event organizer and HR consultancy. A few years later in 2007, he set up research consultancy Stratos Fortuna Idea whose researches also encompass marketing and politics. Then in 2008, he founded the Center for Socio-Economic Studies in Pharmacy, a non-profit foundation studying the social and economic aspects of pharmacy. The Center’s activities have brought it to become a member of the Asia Consortium Executive Committee of ISPOR (International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research) in 2008.
